Aerolíneas Argentinas completed more than 200 special flights

June 12, 2020 – Since the global pandemic was declared in mid-March, Aerolíneas Argentinas operated more than 200 flights, carrying 47,000 passengers.

Out of those flights, 97 were international flights, and 25,400 stranded Argentine citizens were brought back home. Besides, 3,200 foreign residents could return to their home countries since such operations were authorized in mid-April. As regards domestic flights, the Company operated 106 special flights carrying more than 19,000 passengers.

Out of the 97 international special flights operated by the Company, 43 departed from South America, 29 from the Caribbean, 16 from Europe, 16 from the United States, and 1 from Oceania.

In the following days, Aerolíneas will operate flights departing from Madrid, on June 14, 21 and 28 and July 1; from Rome, on June 17; from Miami, on June 19 and 26; and from Cancún, on June 24. It is important to highlight that these flights are authorized to carry foreign citizens on their outbound segments.

As regards domestic flights, a new flight to Ushuaia will depart tomorrow from Jorge Newbery Airport, and another five flights are scheduled to depart to Tierra del Fuego next week. Such flights, as well as all flights operated within the country, are carried out upon request of the Argentine provincial governments.

Finally, the Company goes on operating special flights to Shanghai, with the purpose of bringing critical medical supplies to help fight against the COVID-19. The twenty-fourth special flight to China will depart tomorrow.
