New special flights by Aerolíneas Argentinas to São Paulo, Cancún, Miami and Madrid

June 4, 2020 – Aerolíneas Argentinas has confirmed 9 special flights from São Paulo, Cancún, Miami and Madrid.

The first of these flights will depart from Cancún on June 9 carrying 243 stranded Argentine passengers. This is the eleventh flight scheduled to depart from Cancún in the context of special flights that the Company has been operating since mid-March.

The next day, a new flight from São Paulo will be arriving in Argentina. This flight is also authorized to carry Brazilian citizens on its outbound segment. In the aggregate, the Company has scheduled 25 flights departing from Brazil.

Regarding Miami, the Company has confirmed 3 new flights departing on June 12, 19 and 26.  These flights are in addition to the 15 flights that the Company has made available to Argentine citizens stranded in the United States.

Lastly, the Company has announced 4 new flights from Madrid, which will arrive in the country on June 14, 21 and 28 and on July 1. All such flights are authorized to carry Spanish citizens on their outbound segments. In the aggregate, 17 flights to Spain have been scheduled since the operation of special flights started.

“All Aerolíneas Argentinas staff should be proud of these special flights because we have allowed for thousands of Argentine citizens to return home. The effort we are making is unprecedented,” stated Pablo Ceriani, President of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

All in all, these 9 new special flights operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas mean that there will be over 2100 seats available for Argentine citizens to return home from abroad. Since the operation of special flights started, the Company has scheduled 103 flights which have allowed for more than 25,000 Argentine citizens to return to the country.

In the same vein, the Company has scheduled 32 special flights to Shanghai, China, with the purpose of bringing crucial medical supplies to fight the COVID-19.
