Aerolíneas Argentinas, together with the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure and Energy, organized an event aimed at broadening and improving its supplier network.

Buenos Aires, August 2, 2018.- Today, Aerolíneas Group and the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure and Energy of the Province of Mendoza held a meeting with over 80 local companies in order to find suppliers from Mendoza to cover the various needs of the company.

The event took place at the Intercontinental Hotel, with the presence of Minister Martín Kerchner Tomba and Aerolíneas Group’s Supply Manager, Bruno Finiello.

The main objective of the event was to present the Aerolíneas Argentinas’ supplier development policy and the formal requirements to begin to provide services and sell products to the company, through open, transparent and competitive purchase processes.

Taking into account the significant presence of the company in the city of Mendoza, with 92 weekly flights to and from Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario, Salta, Comodoro Rivadavia, it is essential for the company to have local suppliers in different areas. This is why the event gathered the main suppliers from Mendoza in the industries of accommodation, cleaning, transport, civil works, safety, catering and clothing, among others.

It is worth noting that the initiative was already carried out in the city of Córdoba in March, where over 50 companies of that province participated, some of which have already submitted their bid to become suppliers of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

During the event, Minister Kerchner Tomba commented: “It is very important to us to show everything Mendoza has to offer in terms of production capacity and service provision. This is why it is essential for the economic development of our province to form strategic alliances with other actors, such as Aerolíneas Argentinas, who drive and generate added value.”

In addition, Bruno Finiello stated: “We are looking to bridge the gap with our suppliers, since we are a company essentially engaged in the carriage of passengers with a federal perspective. This is why we are here, with the intention of approaching local business owners from such diverse areas as the cleaning, clothing or catering industries, who can provide us these products and services. Our goal is to be more competitive and sustainable, which is why we are extremely satisfied at the excellent response to today’s meeting, and we hope that this is the starting point of a joint growth with local businesses."

The company committed to present the next bid specifications so that new bidders from Mendoza may participate in the purchase processes. Similarly, Aerolíneas Argentinas plans to take this initiative to other cities in Argentina.
