Arrest of alleged “luggage pickers” (abrevalijas) in Ezeiza Airport

Aerolíneas Argentinas confirms that two maintenance employees of the company are involved in the case.

Buenos Aires, July 10, 2018 – After the searches ordered by Federal Judge of Lomas de Zamora Federico Villena, two employees from the maintenance area of Aerolíneas Argentinas (a mechanic and a driver) were arrested, together with other eight individuals who provided services to various departments of the aviation sector.

It should be noted that neither of the company employees under investigation carried out tasks involving loading and/or unloading passengers’ luggage to/from cargo compartments.

It should also be highlighted that Aerolíneas Argentinas has cooperated with the courts from the start and has made itself available to the judge having jurisdiction so as to ease his work. Should the accusations under investigation be proven, the company shall take the corresponding disciplinary actions.
