March 3, 2021- Coming from Córdoba, the first Embraer E190 aircraft with Aerolíneas Argentinas livery landed at Ezeiza today, following completion of the merger with Austral Líneas Aéreas.
The painting work of this aircraft was completed at the facilities of Fábrica Argentina de Aviones (FAdeA), an aircraft factory located in the City of Córdoba. To carry out this task, our maintenance staff supervised the painting work to ensure compliance with all of the manufacturer’s requirements and technical specifications.
Repainting the E190 fleet is one of the main rebranding actions contemplated in the “Comprehensive Communications Plan” of the merger project between Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral, which will have a great impact on the public and our passengers.
The merger between Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral was concluded on November 30, 2020 when the Argentine Administration of Civil Aviation (ANAC, for its Spanish acronym) issued its certification allowing the companies to operate jointly. The process started in May and was completed in record time, considering its complexity. From the operational point of view, some areas such as maintenance, pilots and crews, were consolidated, thus eliminating the preexisting duplicate unproductive structures. In this way, the company is hoping for greater efficiency and a significant reduction in the resulting costs.
It is worth mentioning that this is the same aircraft that will soon operate its maiden flight at the reopening of the Jorge Newberry Airport.
During 2019, Aerolíneas Argentinas assigned tools and equipment to FAdeA for a maintenance certification which resulted in a credit balance in favor of the company. Said balance will be used to change the appearance of 6 Embraer 190 planes, without any further costs to the flag carrier.
