June 27, 2020 – Aerolíneas Argentinas signed an agreement for mutual cooperation and collaboration with the Argentine LGBT Board of Trade (CCGLAR, for its Spanish acronym)

On occasion of the LGBT Pride Month, the President of Aerolíneas, Pablo Ceriani, together with Javier Faroni, Director of Tourism and Cultural Promotion, and Luciana Merelle D´Herve, Gender and Diversity Coordinator,  signed a master agreement with the Argentine LGBT Board of Trade. The purpose of said agreement is to go on positioning, both within the country and abroad, Argentine destinations where LGBT+ passengers are welcome.

The agreement further provides for actions towards training and raising of awareness, where employees of our company, CCGLAR and representatives of the Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity will participate.

It has to be mentioned that in March the company created the Gender and Diversity Office seeking to promote an organizational culture based on respect for diversity, inclusion and equality. The company also changed the uniforms of the women who work in the customer service area so that they can indistinctly use a pair of trousers or a skirt, and shoes without heels.

“We are really happy to go on working as a team, since it is really very important from the cultural and political standpoint. This will help us have a better company, become a better society and also generate activities that may be beneficial for the development of the regional economies of the country” said Pablo Ceriani.

In turn, Pablo De Luca, President of CCGLAR highlighted: “In this special month, we are very proud of all this, as well as of promoting Argentina worldwide as a destination that welcomes everybody, where each person can be what they want to be and love whoever they want to love. Today I celebrate that we are entering into this agreement to work together”.

This way, Aerolíneas Argentinas, as the flag carrier, undertakes a new commitment to promote and transmit values such as equality and gender identity to both its personnel and its passengers.
