New frequencies to Miami, Sao Paulo, Rio, Lima and Cancun have been confirmed. Additionally, 10 special flights will be operated within Argentina.

March 14, 2020 – Aerolíneas Argentinas has announced the addition of special flights to new destinations as well as more frequencies.

In the case of Miami, a new special flight departing on March 26 has been confirmed, thus totaling 7 scheduled flights to this destination.

2 special frequencies to Lima have been confirmed: the first one is scheduled for March 20 while the date for the second one is yet to be determined. This decision was made on the grounds that other companies have cancelled their flights departing from this destination, thus preventing many Argentine passengers from returning to Argentina as expected.

Despite the decision to cancel operations with Brazil, the company was authorized to operate 2 frequencies with Rio on March 20 and 21. Two flights will be operated with Sao Paulo on the same dates and in the same way.

Along the same lines, the first special flights with Cancun were scheduled for March 23 and 24, respectively.

It is worth mentioning that yesterday the company announced two new flights to Madrid, departing on March 23 and 24. This is in addition to already scheduled flights, thus totaling 4 special flights so far.

Lastly, the company will operate a series of special flights to Salta, El Calafate, Bariloche and Ushuaia between March 20 and 21, thus totaling 10 flights to such destinations. This decision is based on the fact that many tourists who are currently in those Argentine destinations need to come back home before the closing of operations set for the upcoming 4-day long weekend.

Aerolíneas Argentinas is making 4,000 new seats available for Argentine passengers to return home. Since last Friday and until the arrival of the first special flight from Miami today, 5,600 Argentine passengers have already returned to their homes in Argentina.
