With a USD 11.3 million investment and a 5-year work program, the company starts using a software that improves safety and efficiency standards even more.
Buenos Aires, September 5th, 2018.-
With a USD 11.3 million investment and a 5-year work program, Aerolíneas Argentinas implemented a new Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) control system. The new AMOS system ensures traceability of each replaced part throughout the fleet, supporting safety tasks, and boosting savings in purchases and management efficiency.
On Friday, Aerolíneas Argentinas initiated the replacement process of the maintenance control process. AMOS is the system used by the biggest airlines around the globe, and its full application will take place on September 3.
AMOS is a software that allows the company to maintain an efficient management of aviation materials and spare parts, creating new opportunities to save money and thus supporting the company’s road towards sustainability.
Management through this tool boosts labor productivity and allows the company to generate new sources of income since it makes it possible for third parties to perform maintenance tasks, among other benefits.
Consequently, Aerolíneas is now one of the 153 top-line companies using this tool, comprising both airlines and companies specialized in aircraft maintenance. It is a mature, proven and internationally recognized system in operating and financial efficiency for maintenance, engineering and logistics.
Aerolíneas started studying AMOS application 5 years ago. At that time, process migration and implementation adaptation begun. The investment for the purchase of the software and systems adaptation amounts to USD 11.3 million.
Inside the company, AMOS implementation has a direct effect on more than 2,000 users of the Aircraft Technical Services and Engineering Management and the Purchases and Aviation Materials Management; therefore, this entails a cultural reform within the company. It merges different software in one system, including interfaces with operating, administrative and human resources systems, as well and outside suppliers and contacts.
AMOS system has over 20 years of experience in the commercial aviation industry and no company which implemented AMOS has ever changed to another maintenance system. It provides full traceability, making it possible to know, for instance, exactly how many flight hours each aircraft part has flown. It ensures faster processes due to greater availability of real time information and assets movement display. It introduces industry’s best practices and process management implementation. It is more efficient due to the consolidation of management and operating systems, as well as better planning of in-company and outsourced tasks.
