Aerolíneas Argentinas will Transport 8% more passengers during the long weekend

August 17, 2018 – Next weekend, Aerolíneas Argentinas will transport 8% more passengers than in 2017. This means a total of 149,914 tickets sold for the long weekend in August against 134,925 sold for the same period in 2017.

Domestic flights experienced the greatest growth, with an 11% increase in tickets sold. The destinations that grew the most are Bariloche (+25%), Córdoba (+14%), Neuquén (+15%), Ushuaia (+19%) and Comodoro Rivadavia (+19%).

Meanwhile, regional operations experienced a 1% rise. In the case of flights to the United States, there was a 3% wane, and something similar happened with Europe, where the numbers show a negative result of 12% if compared to the same period of the previous year.

These results are in addition to the excellent sales recorded during the special offer week, in which 393,000 tickets were purchased, a 88% rise if compared to a regular week.

It is worth mentioning that July was the best month in the company’s last ten years as regards punctuality, with 86% of on-time flights. During the first seven months, punctuality averaged 88%, 4 points above the scheduled target. Similarly, punctuality increased by 3% if compared to the same period of 2017. In addition, in the same period, cancellations dropped by 48%, with a 3% increase in segments flown.

Similarly, pursuant to the calculations performed by FlightStats in April 2018 the company ranked in the top 3 most punctual companies in the world.
