It relates to communications voiced in certain flights involving contents that had not been consulted with, or approved by, the company.

Buenos Aires, July 16, 2018 – This morning, Aerolíneas Argentinas filed a claim against the Air Line Pilots Association (APLA) and requested the prompt intervention of labor authorities.

The claim relates to the use of aircraft audio systems to deliver an utterly inappropriate message, which constitutes an illegal labor behavior. It is worth noting that messages from the crew to the passengers are regulated by internal rules, and cannot include personal opinions or affect flight safety.

It is important to clarify that Aerolíneas Argentinas did not authorize the use of any of the aviation communication means to such ends. Moreover, it strongly disapproves this union behavior that has raised feelings of concern and uneasiness in passengers, thus affecting the normal operation of the company.

In line with the warnings that were timely given, the company will sanction the personnel involved in the activities prohibited by the rules of conduct and aviation safety.

In this context, the company has requested the prompt intervention of the Ministry of Labor so that it may determine whether the facts invoked in the claim are a breach of the mandatory conciliation issued by said authority on July 10, 2018.
