The month of September marked a new historic passenger record for the Aerolineas Group

04/10/2017

The results show that last month, besides historical record, was the third month with more passengers carried in the history of the company, behind the marks of January and July of this year.

Thus, the company consolidates its growth, with an annual average punctuality of 84% and load factor above 80%.

Buenos Aires, October 4, 2017.- The results achieved by Aerolineas Argentinas during the month of September confirm the strong growth maintained by the company. The flag carrier transported 1,120,000 passengers this month, which represents 18% more than in the same period last year in its entire network, as a result of the varied and convenient offer of destinations and frequencies. In turn, the performance of the domestic network is highlighted. It grew 23% over last year, showing that more and more Argentines are choosing the Aerolíneas Group to move within the country. This marks a new record, the third one this year in the number of passengers carried, while the seat occupancy rate for the month rose to 81.6%, about one percentage point higher than last year.

The Córdoba-Santiago de Chile route was inaugurated during September. This route is key to strengthen the Cordoba hub and connect more passengers at regional level. Another route inaugurated this month was the one that connects Trelew with El Calafate, directly linking two of the most demanded tourist destinations of Patagonia. Both proposals show excellent preliminary results, as they were strategic decisions based on in-depth analysis of domestic and international tourist demand.

A new Boeing 737-800 aircraft was also added as part of the fleet renewal plan. The plane, registered LV-GVC performed the baptism flight linking Buenos Aires with Jujuy last September 18 and is already flying on domestic and regional routes.

The excellent monthly results were also reflected in the number of tickets sold, with an increase of 6.3% compared to September 2016 and 9.6% compared to the same month in 2015. These results are the consequence of various offers and payment terms in interest-free installments, "banda negativa" promotions and agreements with ANSES and other institutions to offer 30% discount to retirees, among others.

"We are pleased to see that the result of the work of those of us who form the Aerolíneas group bears fruit. We had a remarkable performance in flights within Argentina. Furthermore, in a complicated month for the industry in general due to adverse weather conditions in the Caribbean and Miami, we did very well on the network in general", said Mario Dell'Acqua, President of the Aerolíneas Group". The aggregated results demonstrate that the strategy we have outlined is successful. The commitment of each collaborator to the pursuit of excellence in safety and improvement of the quality of our service allow us to continue developing our network in a sustainable way"
