May 6, 2020 – Aerolíneas Argentinas has confirmed the operation of a new special flight from Rome, which is scheduled to arrive on May 9 at 4 a.m.

Said flight entails the return of Aerolíneas Argentinas to Fiumicino Airport after the President’s Resolution of March 18 ordering the cancellation of flights to/from Europe and the United States.

It is worth mentioning that the aircraft will allow 100 Italian citizens to fly on the outbound segment. Accordingly, this modality is being implemented in other special operations, such as the flights scheduled to Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo or Madrid, among others.

“Each flight that returns to our country with Argentine citizens is the result of the effort of the Aerolíneas Argentinas staff members, who are doing their best in this unprecedented operation which is taking place within a critical context on a global scale in both the health sector and the aviation industry. I would like to give all of them my support and express my gratitude,” stated Pablo Ceriani, President of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

This new flight is in addition to the 64 special flights already operated by the company, which, starting on March 18, have allowed more than 19,000 Argentine passengers to return to Argentina from Miami, Madrid, London, Barcelona, Punta Cana, Cancun, Bogota, Quito, Lima, Montevideo, San Salvador de Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Porto Seguro and Florianopolis.

The company has requested all of its passengers to comply with the health protocols and to wear a surgical mask or a face mask mandatorily at all times upon arrival at the airport.

It is important to highlight that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship is the authority that defines the lists of passengers based on the priorities established by health protocols. Said modality applies to exceptional flights. That is why passengers have been asked to make their requests through the consular offices.

Lastly, a new special flight from Rio de Janeiro carrying 162 Argentine passengers will arrive today in the afternoon at Ezeiza International Airport, while the seventh flight to Shanghai is scheduled to depart tonight to bring crucial medical supplies to the country in our fight against COVID-19,.
